Recently, we had the chance to see the Box One Racing GT-T2 Sim Racing Button Box testing. This compact button box is popular and it is not hard to see why. With great value for money and great features, this button box definitely meets the expectations of serious sim racers. In this article, I'll take you through all my findings and explain why the Box One Racing GT-T2 Button Box is a fantastic addition to your sim racing setup!

What's in the box

Upon delivery of the GT-T2 Sim Racing Button Box you can expect the following: of course, the GT Masters M2 Button Box which is well and securely packaged. There are also a number of optional additions, such as a table clamp with 2x M4x10 screws or the 40×40 aluminium profile bracket. For these optional mounting options, you will of course pay a surcharge of a few euros.

Price of the GT-T2 Button Box

The GT-T2 is available from £109.99 for the version without LED lighting. Currently there is a special offer where the price has been temporarily reduced to only €83.99. For the variant with LED lighting, the price is currently €94.99. Please note that these prices do not include any optional accessories. Box One Racing thus positions itself in a very interesting low-budget market position which is hugely interesting for many novice sim racers.

12 Programmable Buttons and Switches

The Box One Racing GT-T2 Sim Racing Button Box is an indispensable accessory for any sim racer. With its 12 programmable buttons and switches, including an illuminated start button and handy buttons with various functions, this button box offers an intuitive and customisable control experience. No more buttons or hotkeys on your keyboard, but everything at your fingertips in a beautifully designed and compact button box. You can choose between buttons with LED lighting and buttons without lighting. We received the variant with LED lighting for this review and - fair is fair - this is quite a cool addition to my sim rig!

Although the buttons are a bit on the smaller side, this does not pose any inconvenience given the size of the button box. The 4 beautifully lit buttons and engine start button in particular stand out for their attractive appearance and the satisfying clicking sound they produce. The sound of the ignition switch with safety cover is also very pleasant and adds extra user fun.

Easy Installation and Flexible Fastening Options

As the installation is plug-and-play, you can get started quickly. The included 1.8-metre USB cable with strain relief ensures a reliable connection. Moreover, the button box is easy to attach to a table or aluminium profiles thanks to the M4 screw thread and optional montage options.

Stylish design and practical benefits

The GT-T2 Sim Racing Button Box has a robust carbon look achieved through a carbon wrap film. This finish creates a very stylish look, but unfortunately it comes with a certain drawback. If you inadvertently apply pressure to the corners of the button box, the wrap film may dent. It is therefore important to handle this with care, as the dented film unfortunately detracts from the attractive look.

The button box is PC compatible only and requires no additional software. With its attractive price and user-friendly mounting options, it is a practical and effective addition to any sim racing setup. Please note that the DFM printing process may possibly cause small bumps on the sides, but this does not affect the performance of the button box.

Advantages GT-T2 Button Box

I think the advantages of the Box One Racing GT-T2 are clear: first of all, a very attractive price, a tough carbon fibre look and a plug-and-play box. The easy mounting with threaded inserts and table clamp makes it a practical choice. Keep in mind that this product may have small bumps on the sides due to the DFM printing process, but this does not affect performance.

Disadvantages GT-T2 Button Box

Frankly, it was hard to find any drawbacks, but there are a few points to consider. First, the position of the USB cable is on the right side. I personally find this an awkward place. My personal preference is to place it on the left side or on the bottom. This has to do - logically - with the location of montage.

There is also, as mentioned earlier, the pressure sensitivity of the carbon wrap film. Unfortunately, in my case, this foil is dented which detracts from the aesthetic aspect. A possible solution to this could be to put plastic caps on the four screws in the corners, so that the film surface is more even while applying the carbon wrap film.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a sim racing button box that is easy to install and offers many features, the Box One Racing GT-T2 is an excellent choice. With features such as an illuminated engine start button, a spring-loaded switch with safety cover and various buttons, this button box is great for various simulation games.

Do you think this button box is too small? Then take a look at the other products from Box One Racing. The range is very diverse and there is something for everyone (budget). Tip: beautify your GT-TS with these beautiful additional neon stickers! This makes your button box personal and unique.

My experience with the Box One Racing GT-T2 Sim Racing Button Box is positive. The button box offers a complete and functional addition to your sim racing setup. Additional options such as a table clamp and screws are also offered for additional options. The big advantage of this button box is undoubtedly its competitive price, while little or no compromise has been made on quality. I am enthusiastic about this button box and as far as I am concerned, this button box comes highly recommended if you are looking for a relatively small and compact button box. Do you want more buttons or functionalities? Then you are better off skipping this GT-T2 and buying the Box One Racing X1 Or consider another button box.
