With the release of the 2025 Season 3 build, iRacing has officially added support for the Fanatec FullForce technology. This step marks an important moment in the evolution of force feedback within sim racing. Combined with the latest Fanatec Driver (version 468), users can now enjoy even more detailed and realistic feedback while driving. But what is Fanatec FullForce and what can you do with it? You can read about it in this article!

What is Fanatec FullForce?

FullForce is a new force feedback protocol developed by Fanatec, specially designed for their Direct Drive wheelbases such as the ClubSport DD and ClubSport DD+. Unlike traditional force feedback, originally designed for gear- and belt-driven systems, FullForce takes full advantage of the immediate response and lack of backlash of Direct Drive systems.

With FullForce, high-frequency vibrations are added to the standard feedback signal, allowing you to feel subtle effects such as the rumble of the engine, the difference between asphalt and kerbstones, or an incipient loss of traction. This creates a richer, more intuitive connection between the driver and the virtual vehicle.

iRacing integrates Fanatec FullForce

FullForce support in iRacing comes with a new “Wheel Low Frequency Effects” menu, in which users can use various sliders to fine-tune the intensity of specific vibration effects themselves. Examples include:

  • Car Body Impact: 0dB
  • Engine: 0dB
  • Gear Change: 10dB
  • Rev Limiter: 10dB
  • Rumble Strip: 10dB
  • Wheel Slip: 10dB
  • Road Texture: -25dB

It is important not to set all sliders to maximum, as this can cause the signal to clip, at the expense of detail.

Fanatec additionally recommends Driver 468 install, as this firmware contains optimisations specifically for FullForce performance with the ClubSport DD and DD+.

Adjust settings via Fanatec Tuning Menu

The intensity of FullForce can be easily adjusted via the Fanatec Tuning Menu, shown as ‘FUL’ on most steering wheel displays. At the moment, the implementation feels slightly less intense than previous demonstrations, but Fanatec is already working on improvements in an upcoming update.

Why this matters

Traditional force feedback mainly reflects forces in the steering wheel, such as grip loss and steering resistance. What is often missing are the smaller but essential details that complete the experience. FullForce fills this gap by also making subtle vibrations tangible. Especially in a firmly mounted cockpit, you feel the effect throughout the entire frame, adding to the immersion and riding experience.

Availability and support

Currently, Fanatec FullForce is only available for the Fanatec ClubSport DD and ClubSport DD+ wheelbases. iRacing is the first sim to fully support this technology, but other titles are expected to follow soon.
