Sometimes you have those moments you never forget. You get into a simulator, grab the wheel and even before you've taken the first corner, you feel it: this is next level. That happened to me during the Sim Gaming Expo in Chicago. What started as a quick test drive ended in pure amazement. I literally had goose bumps behind the wheel, with a grin that just wouldn't disappear from my face. As if my senses could not comprehend that I was not really driving on the track.

The villain? Or rather, the hero of the moment? Vero Motion. A brand that had completely passed me by until that moment, but which settled on my radar overnight. And how. Vero's 3DOF and 6DOF motion systems not only felt smooth and powerful - for the first time, they made me feel truly at one with the car, with the simulator, with the virtual asphalt. This experience was incredibly cool!

What is Vero Motion?

Vero Motion is a manufacturer of high-quality motion systems for sim racing, developed in collaboration with PT Actuator. They offer both 3DOF and 6DOF platforms that deliver realistic, powerful and reliable feedback to sim racers of all levels.

When you have tried many systems, you become critical. But Vero made me believe again in what motion can really add. And especially for the price. Because Vero Motion positions itself in a price segment that suddenly makes 3DOF motion systems much more accessible. As far as I am concerned, this brand now undoubtedly belongs in the list of most impressive motion solutions I have ever tested. So time to share my first experiences with you!

My first experience with Vero Motion: unexpected and unforgettable

My first introduction to Vero Motion took place at their European partner's booth during the Expo in Chicago. What immediately struck me was the sophistication of the motion feedback. Where some systems feel exaggerated or just too flat, Vero manages to convey movements subtly but powerfully. No unnecessary effects, but pure and direct feedback of what is happening in the simulator.

On the 3DOF Champion series I felt the chassis under me reacting to compressions in the asphalt, curbstones and accelerations. It felt like my body knew exactly what the car was doing. But the real highlight? The 6DOF Legend series. I felt brake dives, weight shift in fast turns, bumps, transitions in the tarmac and even side forces when oversteering. The platform worked seamlessly with what I perceived visually and aurally. Not a game gimmick, but a level of immersion I have rarely experienced. It was realistic, responsive and above all: addictively fun.

I literally sat behind the wheel for minutes with a grin. This was sim racing at a higher level. And that's saying something, because I have tested quite a few high-end platforms.

What also stood out during the Expo was the enthusiasm of other visitors. Even sim racers who have been working with professional motion solutions for years were visibly impressed by Vero Motion's agility and power. You notice that here is a product developed with love and experience. And that especially the price makes motion more accessible.

Vero Motion versus the big names: a new challenger

Vero Motion is a relatively new player in the market, but has shown from day one that it has big ambitions. And while the brand name may sound new, there is an experienced force behind the scenes: PT Actuator. This name will immediately ring a bell with connoisseurs. PT Actuator has been an established player in the world of industrial motion systems and precision engineering for many years.

Vero Motion works closely with PT Actuator to bring high-end motion technology to the sim racing world. This collaboration results in a perfect mix of innovation, reliability and technical sophistication. Where other brands are often either too expensive or too limited, Vero Motion manages to strike that balance - thanks to PT Actuator's engineering power and R&D capacity.

With this combination of fresh energy and proven technology, Vero Motion opens the attack on established brands like Qubic Systems and D-Box, which have been the standard in motion simulation for years. Powerful, refined and surprisingly affordable, the systems are ideally positioned for serious sim racers who don't want to compromise.

What sets Vero Motion apart is the combination of:

  • Robust build quality
  • Thoughtful design
  • Impressive specifications
  • A price that offers serious sim racers great value for money

Vero's positioning is clever: they target the avid home user as well as professional racing teams and training centres. In doing so, they bridge the gap between entertainment and serious training. In a market where value for money is increasingly important, Vero offers a refreshing alternative.

It is also striking how seriously the brand is taken in professional circles. There are now several training centres, racing instructors and even semi-pro teams using Vero systems for daily practice sessions. And for good reason: reliability, repeatability and accuracy are crucial in training, and Vero excels in just that.

Two systems, two worlds: choose between 3DOF and 6DOF

As a sim racer, Vero Motion gives you a choice between two powerful systems, each with its own experience: the Champion series (3DOF) and the Legend series (6DOF). Whichever model you choose, you will always get that characteristic Vero Motion experience: smooth, powerful and extremely realistic.

3DOF Motion: The Champion series

With the Champion series, you choose a powerful, compact and future-proof 3DOF motion setup. The 3DOF setup - pitch, roll and heave - already gives you a hugely compelling motion experience. The chassis moves with acceleration, braking, height differences and curbstones. Perfect for those who want to enter the world of motion without moving straight to the very top end.

What does the Vero Motion Champion motion system cost?

Vero Motion offers three variants within their Champion series, each with its own character and purpose. Choose from:

  • Champion (3″) - perfect for those who want compact and efficient boarding
  • Champion GT (4″) - the sweet spot between stroke, speed and carrying capacity
  • Champion GTR (6″) - maximum stroke length and heavy-duty performance for the most demanding sim racer
  • €4.777,95

    Vero Motion Champion (3″)

    • Entry-level model with professional performance.

So whether you are training for competition or simply looking for the most realistic experience: Vero offers a solution that stands up to both profiles.

Comparison with Qubic Systems and D-Box

To better understand Vero Motion's positioning, it is interesting to compare their Champion GT system directly with other popular 3DOF systems:

SystemModelStrokeAccelerationTarget price
Qubic SystemsQS-220 (3DOF)100 mm / 3.93 in300 mm/s$10,250 USD
D-BoxGen 5 420i (3DOF)38.1 mm / 1.5 in100 mm/s$8,400 USD
Vero MotionChampion GT (3DOF)100 mm / 3.93 in250 mm/s$6,500 USD

This comparison clearly shows how Vero Motion positions itself as the ideal middle ground between price and performance. Whereas Qubic Systems focuses on the absolute high-end segment and D-Box mainly profiles itself with entertainment-oriented motion experience (as in cinema and theme parks), Vero offers a powerful combination of speed, precision and solidity - at a considerably lower price tag.

Moreover, it is important to mention that Vero's actuators impress not only on speed, but also on serviceability and modular design. Spare parts are readily available, software is constantly evolving and integration with SimHub and SRS makes the systems widely deployable.

For many sim racers, this means they can finally upgrade to a professional motion system without immediately losing the budget of a small car. And that makes Vero Motion attractive not only in terms of performance, but also as a long-term investment in your racing experience.

All models are compatible with SimHub, among others, and come with a controller, e-stop button, montage brackets, floor contact cups and three-year warranty. Installation is relatively easy for those already working with an aluminium cockpit frame and support from Vero Motion is also professionally set up.

During my testing, the motion platform felt powerful but never jerky. Accelerations, braking and altitude changes were translated smoothly into motion. Calibration and tuning via software was intuitive, keeping the entry threshold low. Even longer sessions remained comfortable thanks to the refined movements. The Champion series is ideal for home use, training purposes and even light commercial applications.

6DOF Motion: The Legend series

Are you looking for the ultimate immersion? Then the 6DOF Legend series is your destination. This one adds yaw, surge and sway - making you feel not only what the car is doing, but also how your body reacts to lateral forces, oversteer and weight transfer. It's like being completely detached from your static environment. It's an incredibly impressive experience!

The Legend series adds yaw, surge and sway. That means:

  • Full 6DOF motion experience
  • Impressively realistic racing experience
  • Perfect for high-end simulators, pro teams and training centres

What makes this system so impressive is not only the extra freedom of movement, but especially how well the different forces come together in a coherent whole. Instead of separate movements, it feels like you are really on the track. Everything is right: the inertia, the speed of feedback, the precision. It is a completely different experience than what a 3DOF system can deliver.

vero motion 6dof

For racing professionals, the Legend series offers a serious training environment where muscle memory, reaction time and racing lines can be trained as if you were on the real track. And yet the system is plug-and-play enough to be used by avid sim racers at home too.

What stands out is that the Legend series is one of the few systems that offers full 6DOF without the price and complexity of traditional hydraulic platforms. The system maintains its speed and finesse even with heavier setups - a unique feature within this price segment.

Motorsport DNA: From the track to the sim

Vero Motion was founded by a team with decades of experience in motorsport and high-level sim racing. You notice that background in everything from the tuning of the motion profile to the choices in hardware and software integration. The aim is not only to make simulation more realistic, but also to support training applications. Their systems are already being used by drivers in Indycar, IMSA and WEC, among others.

They also have a partnership with PT Actuator, the technical brains behind the actuators. This partner is known for their precision and reliability, which is also reflected in the performance of the systems.

These are not toys for hobbyists, but professional tools that have also been made accessible to the truly avid sim racers. It is this balance between quality and accessibility that makes Vero Motion so interesting.

What can we expect from Vero-Motion?

Next month, I will visit the Sim Racing Expo in Dortmund, where I will once again get to work with the Vero systems. And honestly? I can't wait. I am especially curious to see how the systems there compare to other high-end providers such as D-Box, Qubic or even DOF Reality Pro+. Are we going to see new features? New models? Or optimisations of the existing line?

We might also see an expansion into more plug-and-play solutions, or even modular extensions for existing platforms. Vero has said it values user feedback, so who knows what's in the pipeline.

What I already know: I'm going to catch myself with that same grin again as I did in Chicago. Because once you've felt Vero, you know: this is the future. And thanks to its - relatively - affordable price, a motion system is one step closer.

Final conclusion: Is Vero Motion the new king of motion simulation?

Whether they will become the absolute king only time will tell, but one thing is clear: Vero Motion has impressively put itself on the map. Their systems combine:

  • High-end motion technology
  • Thoughtful engineering
  • Affordable pricing
  • Professional reliability

For those looking for more immersion, better training or simply more fun from sim racing, Vero Motion is definitely worth considering. Especially for sim racers who are ready for the next step, but do not want to invest immediately in a system worth over €10,000, Vero-Motion offers a very attractive alternative.

With the Champion series as a powerful entry-level product and the Legend series as the ultimate flagship, Vero proves that motion is no longer just for the high-end. The future of motion systems? Which suddenly looks a lot more accessible, smart and exciting than ever before.
