Heusinkveld, a well-known name in the world of sim racing hardware, has added a new addition to its product line: the Heusinkveld MagShift Mini. This compact sequential shifter offers an impressive combination of power, precision and versatility. With a patented magnetic shifting system, individually adjustable shifting forces and durable build quality, this looks like a must-have for sim racers seeking a realistic shifting experience.

But what really makes the Heusinkveld MagShift Mini special? In this article, we dive deeper into the specifications, features and why this shifter is an interesting option for you!

MagShift Mini: Ultra-compact but extremely powerful

One of the most striking features of the Heusinkveld MagShift Mini, the little brother of the Heusinkveld MagShift, is its small size. Measuring just 5.75 x 9.15 x 16.9 cm (including the montage bracket), it fits effortlessly into even the tightest simulator set-ups. Despite its compact design, this shifter delivers impressive performance.

Heusinkveld has equipped the MagShift Mini with an advanced magnetic shifting system, making it almost weartagefree and providing years of consistent performance. The shifting force is individually adjustable, with a range of 4 to 8 kg per shift, meaning it can be adjusted for both light and very firm shifting sensations.

Build quality and technology

At Heusinkveld, durability is paramount, and this is clearly reflected in the build quality of the MagShift Mini. The housing is made of sturdy steel, while the shifter itself features a heavy-duty aluminium knob. This ensures not only a solid feel, but also a realistic experience with every shift.

For circuit detection, Heusinkveld uses opto-electronic sensors, which ensure highly accurate and reliable registration of each circuit. Because there are no physical contacts to wear out, the shifter continues to perform consistently no matter how often it is used.

Smart montageoptions

Another strength of the MagShift Mini is its simple montage. As standard, it comes with a U-shaped montage bracket, which allows it to be attached to a simulator with just two bolts. This ensures a compact installation, requiring only one profile lock when mounted on an aluminium profile.

In addition, the montage bracket offers multiple adjustment options to find the perfect position:

  • Yaw adjustment (turning the bracket for angle adjustment)
  • Tilt adjustment (choice of three different modes)

For additional flexibility, Heusinkveld offers three optional montagem options (sold separately):

  • Corner bracket (€14 incl. VAT) - for montage at an angle on an aluminium profile.
  • Vertical montageplate (€14 incl. VAT) - for montage on a vertical aluminium profile.
  • Table clamp (€29 incl. VAT) - for attachment to a table or desk.

The combination of compactness and versatile montage options makes the MagShift Mini an ideal choice for racers with limited space or specific positioning needs.

More control with Heusinkveld SmartControl

In addition to its physical features, the MagShift Mini offers additional functionality via the Heusinkveld SmartControl software. Allows up to four fully configurable outputs are assigned to the shift lever. This means you can link multiple actions to a single movement of the shifter, which you can then activate simultaneously, delayed or independently.

For sim racers who want to tune their setup to perfection, this software is a valuable addition. For example, you can combine different gearshifts depending on the game or simulation you are playing.

Price and availability

The Heusinkveld MagShift Mini is available immediately at a recommended retail price of € 259 incl. VAT. For that price, you get not only the shifter itself, but also the U-shaped montage bracket and the required montage materials (2x M6x12 flange bolts and 2x 6mm T-nuts). Optional accessories such as the angle bracket, vertical montage plate and table clamp are available separately.

Conclusion: a powerful upgrade

The Heusinkveld MagShift Mini offers a unique combination of compactness, power and versatility. Despite its small size, it delivers a realistic and customisable shifting experience, backed by high-quality materials and advanced technology.

For sim racers looking for a sequential shifter that takes up little space but delivers maximum performance, the MagShift Mini is an excellent choice. With its extensive set-up options, smart montage options and SmartControl support, this shifter is a powerful addition to any sim racing setup.
