In March 2025, Fanatec introduced the new Fanatec App: a powerful, integrated software tool that makes life much easier for both novice and experienced sim racers. The app unites the old Fanatec Control Panel, FanaLab and relevant website functions in one central environment. It allows you to manage all your Fanatec product settings, create game profiles, install updates and access important documentation and manuals.

Fanatec Control Panel and software now integrated into one app

The biggest asset of the new Fanatec App is the bundling of previously separate systems. Whereas users previously had to switch between the Fanatec Control Panel for firmware updates and FanaLab for telemetry settings, the new app offers one clear interface where everything comes together. The result: less time spent setting up your hardware and more time on the track.

Through the app, you can:

  • Calibrating your steering wheel and pedals
  • Install firmware updates via the latest Fanatec drivers
  • Creating and managing game-specific profiles
  • Adjusting LED settings, displays and force feedback settings
  • Importing and exporting settings between different devices

In addition, the app retrieves information directly from the official Fanatec website, including manuals, FAQs and recommended settings for specific games. So you always have access to the right help, without having to search in multiple places.

Fanatec Control Panel: old and new functionality in transition

The current version of the Fanatec App is available for Windows PCs. Although the app will have the same visual style and features on mobile devices, the mobile version is not yet ready for release. Until then, mobile users will continue to rely on the older Fanatec Control Panel. However, Fanatec has confirmed that cross-platform compatibility is a key focus for future updates.

User-friendliness central

Fanatec has paid a lot of attention to an intuitive user experience. An interactive tour of the app helps you get started step by step, without having to dig through a manual first. This makes the app approachable for new users, while offering in-depth configuration options for advanced users.

At launch, the app will be available in five languages: English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. Further language support will follow later, with Fanatec capitalising on the international growth of the sim racing community.

Fanatec drivers and regular updates

The Fanatec App is currently available as a public beta (v0.10.1) and is being actively developed. Fanatec says that user feedback plays an important role in future updates. New features will be added gradually, ensuring the app continues to adapt to the needs of the community.

Fanatec App: a solid foundation for the future

The introduction of the new Fanatec App marks an important step in optimising the user experience within the Fanatec ecosystem. By integrating multiple tools into one clear environment, you save time, avoid mistakes and get more out of your hardware. Although mobile support is still some time away, the current PC version already offers an impressive range of features for both novice and seasoned sim racers.

Those already using Fanatec hardware would do well to download and test the app. The future of Fanatec software is clear: simpler, more powerful and fully customised. In any case, I think the new software is a positive improvement. What do you think of this revamped Fanatec software?
