Precision Sim Engineering has officially received the ES-Pro announced - a brand new steering wheel that is the result of more than a decade of experience in designing high-end sim racing hardware. The brand, known worldwide for its precision, build quality and attention to detail, is targeting a wider audience with this model without compromising on the core values that made PSE great. The official launch of the Precision Sim Engineering ES-Pro will take place at Friday 10 October 2025 at 17:00 (CEST).

Precision Sim Engineering ES-Pro

A new era of precision and performance

The ES-Pro is more than a new steering wheel - it is a redefinition of what 'accessible performance’ means within sim racing. Built around the all-new Select-X control architecture, this wheel offers no less than 109 fully mappable inputs, full RGB lighting that responds to telemetry and a range of innovative features normally found only on PSE's premium models. It is a wheel built to perform - at any level.

The chassis consists of a single piece of billet aluminium, probably CNC-machined as with other PSE models, for maximum rigidity and precision. The silicone grips are specially designed for prolonged racing sessions: comfortable, hard-wearing and with a perfect balance between grip and cushioning. Every detail - from the pressure resistance of the buttons to the click of the shifters - exudes the quality you expect from Precision Sim Engineering.

I have had the opportunity to experience this outstanding build quality myself with previous PSE products, such as the Pro Switch Panel and the DD-X DDU. Both products already showed how far PSE goes in finish, choice of materials and solidity. That sense of precision and reliability seems to have been taken to the next level again with the ES-Pro. For me personally, PSE is now among the absolute top of the sim racing world - not only in terms of technology, but also in terms of craftsmanship.

Select-X: total control at your fingertips

The new Select-X control architecture is at the heart of the ES-Pro. This platform offers not only more inputs, but also smarter control logic. Think dynamic button settings, adjustable power levels and an advanced upshift protection algorithm that prevents you from shifting up too early during intense racing situations. Everything is designed to keep your focus on the track and optimise your actions.

Through SimHub integration, each LED segment is customisable, allowing the lighting to fully adjust to your preferences or specific sim setups. Moreover, you get free access to Daniel Newman Racing's SimHub plugin, including ready-made dashboards and LED profiles. This gives you an instant visual and functional setup that feels professional - without complicated configuration.

Expectations and first impressions

The announcement of the new Precision Sim Engineering ES-Pro feels like a strategic move by PSE towards a new segment. Whereas previous models such as the GT-R wheel and the LM-X targeted the absolute high-end market, the ES-Pro seems designed to make that same experience accessible to a wider group of sim racers. Yet the typical PSE signature remains clearly present: uncompromising finish, mechanical perfection and a design that puts functionality above all else.

The ergonomics seem remarkably well thought out. The 285mm diameter makes the wheel suitable for both GT and prototype simulations, and the position of the shifters ensures you never have to take your hands off the grips. Combine that with the light resistance of the MK-4 shifters and the solid tactile feedback of the buttons, and you get a handlebar that inspires immediate confidence.

It seems that Precision Sim Engineering has a strong asset with the ES-Pro. A wheel that closes the gap between the ultimate high-end market and the serious enthusiast looking for something that is both technically impressive and practically usable. If this is the start of the new Select-X generation, we can expect a lot from PSE's future.
