Fanatec has on the ADAC SimRacing Expo presented its latest innovations, including the long-awaited Fanatec ClubSport Handbrake V2, the successor to the ClubSport Handbrake V1.5 which is severely outdated. Designed specifically for sim racers looking to take their rally and drift skills to the next level, this new handbrake combines improved performance, durability and versatile customisation options.

Fanatec ClubSport Handbrake V2

A Complete New Design

The Fanatec ClubSport Handbrake V2 has been completely redesigned with a robust and durable construction. The housing and handle are made of high-quality cast and CNC-finished metal, which not only ensures sturdiness but also a professional look. Thanks to the use of ball bearings in the pivot, the movement feels smooth and consistent.

Precision thanks to load cell technology

The biggest technological advance is the switch to a load cell sensor, a first in the history of Fanatec handbrakes. This sensor provides a highly accurate and reliable analogue input, allowing simracers to better modulate their braking power. This is especially a big advantage in rally and drift competitions, where precise control is essential.

The load cell sensor replaces the previously used potentiometer technology, providing a more realistic and consistent braking experience. The handbrake connects via an RJ12 cable to a Fanatec Wheel Base as standard, but can also be used as a standalone USB device (with the separately available ClubSport USB adapter).

Versatile customisation options

One of the most striking features of the ClubSport Handbrake V2 is its extensive personalisation options. Simracers can tailor the handbrake to their personal preferences and driving style:

- Adjustable preload: By adjusting the voltage on the elastomer and load cell stack, the initial resistance of the lever can be changed. This is easily accessible by opening the housing.

- Adjustable angle and travel: Thanks to three montagep positions on the lever and an adjustable spacer, the angle of the lever can be easily adjusted. This allows both fine adjustment and quick switching between different settings.

- Compatibility with various montages systems: The handbrake can be mounted vertically or horizontally. Special montage options are available for aluminium profiles, table montage and direct mounting to the side of a Fanatec ClubSport Shifter (with the included spacer).

Made For Intensive Use

The Fanatec ClubSport Handbrake V2 is designed for casual sim racers and professionals alike. The lever features a removable rubber grip, which provides comfort during long racing sessions. For those who prefer metal, the rubber grip can be easily removed.

Thanks to its strong steel and aluminium construction, combined with a powder-coated finish, the handbrake is built to last for years, even under heavy use.

Price and availability

The Fanatec ClubSport Handbrake V2 is available immediately via the Official Fanatec webshop at a price of € 199,95. This model replaces the older ClubSport Handbrake V1.5 and offers a significantly improved experience, making it a strong competitor to premium handbrake brands such as Heusinkveld and Sim-Lab.
